Linus Kujur received a new Kidney on 16 November 2017, and now he is recovering in Hospital Spallanzani, Rome. As part of the precautionary measures, no visitors were allowed until Sunday. This evening, I accompanied the House Infirmarian Sr. Miroslawa to visit Linus. Only one visitor is allowed from 18.30 to 19.30. He seemed to be very relaxed, happy and high in spirit. He expresses his gratitude to all Ranchi Jesuits and other friends, who supported him during the crucial moments through their prayers and best wishes. He may have to remain in the Hospital for 7-10 days.
Linus had been waiting for this moment almost for one year. He expected the Transplant during summer vacation, which did not take place. But his waiting time did not last long. On Wednesday 15 November 2017, while the Gregorian Community was having a recreation in the evening after the Memoriale of R.P. Delegate, he received a call from Sr. Miroslawa to inform him about the possibility of having a Kidney Transplant the following day, and to ask him whether he was ready. He consented immediately and on the following day, early morning, he had to go for the dialysis and then to the Hospital Sparanzani for the final analysis. After the compatibility tests, the process of Kidney Transplant began in the afternoon at around 16.30. The operation was successfully completed at around 19.30.
While we pray for his speedy and full recovery, we also request your prayers for the eternal repose of the Donor, who generously donated his Kidneys to Linus and to another patient. May he repose in peace!
