10 JANUARY 2018
There are 10 Ranchi Jesuits in Europe who are studying either Philosophy or Theology. Last year Jyoti Paul Baxla and David Minj from Paris had come to Rome for one-week pilgrimage with their Jesuit philosophy companions. Towards the end of the Year 2017, James P. Balmuchu and Anuj K. Minj from Madrid came down to Rome on 31 December to be with their Roman companions and to visit some important places. After participating in the New Year festivities, they went back to Madrid on 5 January.
Sameer Ekka and Ajay P. Minj from Munich had already arrived in Rome on 27 December to make their Annual Retreat under the guidance of Anselm Ekka. After the Retreat Sameer and Ajay had two days at their disposal to move around under the careful guidance of Ravi Hemant and Edwin Ritesh. The other Ranchi men Kulwant Minj, Edwin Dang and Bijus Sebastian (DUM) had already planned to give them a worthy farewell by preparing a delicious meal for them on 6 January. Being the feast of Epiphany, all the shops were closed, but Biju Sebastian managed to get all possible eatable items from his priest friends of other Congregations. After being satisfied spiritually as well as physically, both Sameer and Ajay left for Munich by the night bus. On 7 January, Anselm too left for Ranchi for his annual vacation.
